In-Demand Jobs Week 2024 is May 6-10
The seventh annual In-Demand Jobs Week of Summit and Medina Counties, part of a statewide celebration of jobs, industries, and skills that are in-demand in Ohio, will be held May 6-10, 2024. The theme for In-Demand Jobs Week 2024 is "Ohio, The Heart of Opportunity,” highlighting the various career opportunities available here in Ohio, now and in the future.
At the local level, the Summit and Medina OhioMeansJobs centers will celebrate by hosting events on in-demand career training opportunities, as well as recruitment events with employers in healthcare, information technology, and manufacturing. Events will be held at local libraries and other community organizations to provide flexibility for job seeker participation. Summit and Medina residents interested in learning more can begin their search for employment or training by visiting summitmedinaomj.org.
“Medina County wholeheartedly agrees with the State’s theme for In-Demand Jobs Week 2024. Our County is brimming with opportunity through amazing career choices across all employment sectors for job seekers with varying skill sets that offer competitive wages. As with years past, I continue to encourage Medina residents to explore career opportunities during this special week,” said Medina County Commissioner Colleen Swedyk.
In-Demand Jobs Week is also an exciting opportunity for employers. Local businesses will have the chance to build a talent pipeline by meeting prospective employees and generating interest in job opportunities within their industries. “Summit County employers are excited to take advantage of this special week to be even more accessible to job seekers. Our OhioMeansJobs business services team has planned events featuring local employers with current and future In-Demand job openings. Most importantly, these events meet job seekers where they are. I’m proud of the efforts to purposefully eliminate barriers to employment by bringing opportunities to neighborhoods,” said Summit County Executive Ilene Shapiro.
